Holding ground against time and water.

Retaining Structures

Across highways, railways and waterways, slopes and embankments carry forces that move ground over time: erosion, settlement and the steady pressure of water behind them. Satyam Buildtech manufactures the gabion systems built for exactly that work.

  • Gabion retaining systems that stabilise slopes, protect banks and hold embankments, shaped to the terrain and built to last for decades.
  • Gabion Boxes
  • Gabion Mattresses
  • Non-Woven Geotextile Filter Fabric

  • Gabion units are woven from heavily coated wire into double twisted hexagonal mesh, then filled on site with rock and stacked into gravity retaining structures. Because the structure is flexible, it settles with the ground instead of cracking against it. Because it is permeable, water passes through rather than building pressure behind it. Because it is filled on site, it goes up quickly with simple preparation.
  • Slope stabilisation
  • Erosion control
  • Bank and scour protection
  • Water management
  • Gradual vegetation over time
  • Flexible structure that moves with the ground. Permeable face that relieves water pressure. Coated wire built for long service life. Fast to construct with locally sourced fill. Low maintenance across decades.
  • Highway and railway embankments
  • River training and canal banks
  • Bridge abutments
  • Slope and cutting stabilisation
  • Channel and shoreline protection
